We encourage you to review the information and links below, read reviews and discuss options with your family to ensure the best experience during your stay.

A Unique Experience for Every Family

Your group will be our only focus for your tour.

Chat with us to tailor the itinerary to your interests, tastes, and energy levels. Include additional cellar door tastings, add a bike ride or swim at the spectacular beaches along the coast.

The attractions below have been chosen based on many factors including their accessibility for children aged 3-12, value for money and environmental sustainability.

A relaxed timetable allows children to rest in our air-conditioned vehicle or play at family-friendly attractions, without the deadlines of a tour bus schedule.

Ride in comfort in our electric Tesla Model X, a comfortable 7-seat SUV suitable for a touring family of 4 or up to 6 passengers with less luggage.

Most attractions need to be pre-booked, especially in peak seasons. We can handle all bookings when your trip is confirmed, or bookings can be made directly with each attraction.

Busselton Jetty

Day 1 - Perth to Margaret River

  • 8am: Pickup from your CBD location
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast at your hotel before packing the kids and loading into our 7 seat Tesla Model X for the journey south.
  • 8am-10am: Travel to Bunbury
  • 10am-11am: Bunbury Farmers Market
Our first stop is to gather local produce from this highly-rated grocery store. Fresh fruit, cheeses and meat are sourced from local farmers and towns. Freshly squeezed juices complement the range of meals and snacks available to purchase for the next leg of our journey.
  • 12pm-12:30pm: Drive to Busselton
  • 12:30pm-2:30pm: Busselton Jetty
Our first ‘Must-See’ attraction. Extending 1.841 kilometres over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage-listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and home to one of six Underwater Observatories in the world!
Allow up to 2 hours for a full train ride and underwater observatory tour (bookings preferred).
Add extra time for lunch and the large pirate ship playground before or after the tour.
  • 2:30pm-3pm Drive to next stop

Day 1 Afternoon – 2 Options
3pm-4:30pm

Option 1: Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands Experience
One of 6 caves in the region catering to tourists, this is our favourite for most families. After a native bushland walk, you enter the well-lit cave, walking up and down 350 steps while admiring the cave’s natural beauty. A souvenir shop, nature playground and kid’s cave tunnel are just some of the facilities that complement the cave.

Option 2: Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse
This is the smaller of two lighthouses in the region at just 59 steps, making it great for smaller children (4+ years old). Both the lighthouse and the trails exploring the local area offer spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and approaching sunset. During September-December, whales can be sighted on their migration through Geographe Bay.

Road through trees

Day 2 - South Region

  • 8am-9am: Breakfast at The Hairy Marron
If your accommodation doesn’t include breakfast, we’ll start the day with a fresh meal in the centre of Margaret River. The Hairy Marron is a cafe with great coffee and muffins, located next to Rotary Park playground and walking trails along the river.
  • 9am-9:30am: Travel to Cave tour

Day 2 Morning – Cave Tour – 4 Options
9:30am-11:30am
Choose from 4 unique cave experiences in the region, some slightly more challenging than others. See margaretriverattractions.com for more details.

  • Mammoth Cave is the easiest to travel through. Tours are self-guided with headsets supplied in various languages. The first cavern is also easily accessible by wheelchair or young children, with the rest of the well-lit cave tour accessed by 370 steps. 170 steps lead out of the cave, finishing with a bush walk through the ridge.
  • Lake Cave is a fully guided 1-hour tour through a well-lit cave. Recommended for active kids, 325 steps lead down into the cave and are walked back up. A magnificent lake in the cave makes for amazing photos and reflections.
  • Giants Cave or Calgadup Cave. These caves are self-guided, with torches and helmets supplied for the unlit caverns. These are recommended for older children, and Giants Cave requires climbing over rocks and up ladders. These are a great experience for active kids but are only open during the warmer months of October-April.

Should you prefer, a wine tour can be arranged instead of a Cave tour.

  • 11:30am-12pm: Travel to Lunch

Day 2 Lunch – 2 Options
12pm-2pm

Option 1: Lunch and Tastings at The Berry Farm
For lunch, we have chosen a popular location with families. Choose from various platters and meals while you sample fruit wines, liqueurs, preserves or jams, made from local produce. 3 playgrounds and farm animals will keep the kids company while you peruse the gourmet goods.

Option 2: Colourpatch Cafe & Bar Augusta then Hamelin Bay Ray Watching
Enjoy a sit-down meal or grab some takeaway from Colourpatch Cafe overlooking the Blackwood River in Augusta. We’ll then travel to Hamelin Bay where the kids can relax or wander along the shore and hopefully spot some rays coasting in the shallows.

  • 2pm-2:30pm: Travel to next attraction

Day 2 Afternoon – 3 Options
2:30pm-4:30pm

Option 1: Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Situated at the tip of South-West WA, the tallest lighthouse on Mainland Australia offers unparalleled views of the Southern and Indian Oceans. A cafe, interpretive centre and well-kept grounds offer many relaxing options after the climb.

Option 2: Jewel Cave
The largest show cave in WA with immense caverns and towering crystal formations. Like Lake Cave, Jewel is best for older children as it has 250 steps and 1 hour guided tours.

Option 3: Capes Raptor Centre
Home to rescued and rehabilitated eagles, hawks and other birds of prey, Capes Raptor Centre is only open Thursday-Monday. Get close to these magnificent birds in a unique attraction with a vital cause.
